Carol Ann Schmidt passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026 in her home in Savannah, Georgia.  The daughter of George and Victoria Abraham, Carol was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 27, 1942. She spent most of her childhood and young adult life in southern California where she graduated from UCLA, became a teacher, and met and married her future husband, Ronald Schmidt (US Army Col. Ret./Dec.) in 1965. 

She moved on from California in the mid 1960’s and travelled and lived around the United States and Europe with her husband and two sons as a teacher, social worker, and officer’s wife ultimately retiring in Savannah, Georgia in the early 1990’s where she became an avid golfer and local volunteer. She will join her husband, Ronald, in Arlington National Cemetery later in 2026. 

She will always be remembered as a warm and caring wife, mother, and grandmother by her two sons, Kurt and Eric, and her granddaughter Sophia.
